Up Close and Personal

I find myself always drawn to the streetstyle photographs that take on an up close perspective. These shots are often just as, if not more interesting than the overall look of the subject. Sometimes it's all about the details...

Going Military [Style]

Seems the military inspired fashion from spring/summer will likely carry through into fall/winter. Key essentials of this look...colors: shades of green.grey.beige, fabrics/materials: leather.canvas.twill.wool, paired with: leather lace up ankle boots. My favorite look from above is the hooded jacket over the white skirt; must be the mix of military ruggedness with the femininity of an ever so pretty skirt.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Prints, floppy hats, suede/leather, faux fur trim and weathered denim are elements of the boho, hippie look. While the boho trend may come and go and have surfaced in different variations (bourgeois bohème, hobo grunge, boho rock), something about the casual folksy feel of this look resonates with my inner flower child...

Gisele and Cavalli

Roberto Cavalli celebrates his 40th anniversary by pairing Gisele Bündchen with his signature prints and coveted textured fabrics in the Fall Winter 2010/2011 ad campaign photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Supermodels and prints have never looked so better... More of these stunning images can be found at http://www.robertocavalli.com/

L.A.M.B. Fall 2010 RTW

It seems every celebrity these days is launching a clothing line and there are a select few I would consider noteworthy. Gwen Stefani's clothing line L.A.M.B. has gained steady success since its 2003 launch. The collections stay true to Gwen's rocker, punk, edgy style. The Fall 2010 collection is no exception and evokes a sense of futuristic russian spy meets sultry boudoir vixen with a modern grunge theme.  And did I mention, the shoes and bags are amazing as well?  L.A.M.B. can be purchased at major retailers like Shopbop, Saks, and Nordstrom.

"The City" Style

You don't have to be a fan of "The City" to know Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo have style. The show serves as my guilty pleasure for various reasons; the NYC lifestyle, the drama and best of all the fashion. Are you Team Whitney or Team Olivia?

Beaucoup Bobs

While perusing through magazines and style blogs; filling up on my daily fashion fix, I kept seeing Michelle Pfeiffer circa 1980s inspired bob cuts. While it seems each decade seems to have its own version or spin on the bob cut, the looks Abbey Lee Kershaw, Raquel Zimmerman and Freja Beha Erichsen have been flaunting in the latest fall ad campaigns are très chic! Perhaps it's time for a new do...

Bevy of Brooches

Your grandmother isn't the only one donning brooches these days. Jeweled and ornamental brooches have made their appearances on runways, celebrities and fashion editorials. I find them most distinctively charming when worn in unconventional ways; as hair accessories (on headbands for example), on jeans, clutches and handbags, belts, necklaces and even shoes. Furry Fashionista

William Wegman is an artist notably known for his fanciful photographs of Weimaraners as his muses. Art and dog enthusiasts alike embraced these photogenic canines who also appeared in Sesame Street and SNL segments. The images above are from Wegman's "Fashion Photographs" book which captures these dogs during the 90s in delightful designer duds. My personal favorite is the one in the leopard print bikini (now who can resist that?!) As a tribute to Wegman's artistic acumen, here are photos of my own personal muse "Manolo" sporting Marc Jacobs heels, grey suede belt (as collar) by H&M and silver chain necklace from Wasteland. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
